Prof. Raj Mestry

Topic: Empowering principals to be “future-ready” to effectively lead public schools in the 21st century and beyond.
Brief Biography
Raj Mestry joined the University of Johannesburg in 2002 and is currently serving as Professor in the Department of Education Leadership and Management. His field of expertise includes education leadership and management, with a particular focus on School Financial Management and facets of leadership and management. Raj is a rated researcher by the National Research Foundation and has published extensively nationally and internationally in peer-reviewed journals and has authored and coauthored multiple books and chapters. He serves as an executive member of the Education Association of South Africa and is a member of the British Education Leadership Management Administration Society (BELMAS).
Dr. Rea Raus
Affiliation: Statera Research and Practice Centre for Sustainability, Estonia
Topic: Curriculum Development for Sustainability-Lessons Learned from Teacher Education and High School Curriculum Development
Brief Biography
Rea Raus has graduated from Tampere University, Finland (PhD, teacher education in the context of sustainable development) and Tallinn University, Estonia (MA, pedagogical counselling). R.Raus is currently studying the principles of sustainability and is a practising teacher and facilitator. She is involved in curriculum development, courses in sustainable economy, etc.

Dr Stephen Poon

Brief Biography
Stephen is a social creative catalyst with a unique worldview, shaped by a rich multicultural background and extensive experience across Europe. Actively in research, his work spans current issues and debates on the SCHEI area (Sustainability, Creativity, Human Factors, and Entrepreneurship & Innovation), discourse across a wide range of disciplinarities in intra, cross, multi, inter and trans practices. His insights and versatile approach to social change and environmental stewardship bring valuable perspectives to the field of circularity and sustainability. He holds the lectureship for contextualising practice, integrated sustainability, entrepreneurship, design thinking, innovation process, media marketplace and industry. Current affiliation with MILA University.
